52-’11 / Week Nine / February 27-March 5

My family and I are enjoying a quiet Saturday listening to the rain, with a fire in fireplace and watching movies. It’s been a busy “life” week but a slow photography week. So, this morning I practiced using my flash off-camera. Boy, do I have a lot to learn about lighting!

My subject is a large, simple nativity that I keep out year ’round. It is a beautiful reminder–not just at Christmas–of the fulfillment of God’s promise to send us a Savior…a Savior Whose sacrifice would be sufficient for the sin of all people for all time. The celebration of the  joy of Christ born in the flesh of a baby transitions to the magnitude of the Cross we remember on Good Friday and the triumph we exalt on Resurrection Morning. Glory to God in the Highest! Praise Him for His VICTORY over sin and death! Prostrate before Him in humble gratitude that we may be saved…because of Him!

Do you know Him like this? Do you want to be a part of the victory over sin? Do you need that victory in your life? Let me know–I would be honored to share with you.

The celebration of Christmas is inseparable from the magnitude of Resurrection Sunday!

Romans 5:8-11 (NASB)

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
